Day 3
It is our third day in Stanford and
we had a lesson on blogging today. We learnt more about the history of media
and different forms of communication in the past such as cave paintings. We
also created our own posts on wordpress and tried to use Canvas. We learnt a
lot in designing our blog and are really looking forward to the next lesson.
In the
afternoon, we went to the Cantor Art Museum and the Hoover Tower. The Art museum showcased portraits of the Stanford
families as well as exhibits that came from China, Africa, Japan, Egypt and so
on. The trip was inspiring as we gained deeper understanding of the civilization
of human in the early ages. However, we were frightened by the ‘fake man’ as we
entered the figuration hall. The eyes and the hair were lifelike. It was truly
impressive and extraordinary!
The Hoover Tower is a one of the 19 working
libraries in Stanford. It was opened in 1941 when Stanford celebrated its 50th
anniversary. The library showcases books and transcripts about war and
revolution. We went to the top of the tower and we can see the whole view of Stanford
University. The scenery was beautiful and we took a lot of photos.
After our
first free time, we had wraps and salad for dinner and they were so delicious.
Then, we drew hennas on our hands excitedly. It was all our first time having
hennas! Brown, icy fluid ran through our hands, turning into beautiful patterns.
We are so amazed by our counselor’s amazing art sense and we love our hennas a
lot. We then spent the rest of our day resting and playing together happily. This
is how we ended our second day in Stanford and we enjoyed our day so so much!
