Group 10 10th July 2016

Stanford G
Today we had our second outing to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  There were a wide variety of the species: from reptiles like snakes and turtles, to the mesmerizing marine animals like sharks and tuna... We learnt a lot about the livelihood of the sea animals, many interesting facts about whales, stages of growth of jellyfish, and lots more.

We also played some games concerning the habitat and living habits of penguins. The tranquility of the sea outside the aquarium also captivated our attention, we particularly like the crystal blue and calm sea and the cool breeze.

Moreover, we also learnt from this trip the importance of marine conservation. We realized how our consuming actions can be part of the solution to destructive farming and fishing practices and we should buy sustainable seafood to avoid causing harm to marine life.

Afterwards, we had free time to hang out at the Monterey Bay to visit local shops. We did some shopping in souvenir shops and bought chocolate in a well-known chocolate store. Before leaving, we had a chance to visit the popular ice cream shop and tasted scrumptious low-fat ice creams and frozen yogurts. It was fun and relaxing.

We definitely enjoyed ourselves.
