Group 8 Day 8

Day 8
The dining hall was crowded when we had breakfast this morning. It was chaotic and we could hardly find a seat. We thought it might be because other summer camps had already started and there were a lot more visitors. After the meal, we had an anthropology lesson. We learnt to think about things in different perspectives. We read an article on rituals of 'Nacirema' which actually means 'American'. It was really interesting as we got to experience the true meaning of 'making something familiar unfamiliar and making something unfamiliar familiar'. Next, we had another lesson on design thinking mindset. We participated in various activities and enhanced our creativity. We also toured around the design school. It was neat and tidy with unlimited supplies and tools. We were amazed by the inventions of the students. One of them was a recording box made from a cabinet. It was used to provide a silent place for video or voice recording. We all thought that it was unique and very useful.

Afterwards, we went to the Stanford shopping centre. It was enormous and packed with lots of different kinds of shops. We were all so excited, running around, going to shops we planned to go. We first went to Bath and Body Works, shopping for body lotions, hand creams and body washes, the whole shop was filled with floral scents and many more, we just loved the shop so so much! We then went to Abercrombie and Fitch, the jeans there were so fashionable and we went crazy. We enjoyed shopping so much and ended our few hours there with a McDonald's meal. We shared cheese burgers and Jamba fruit juice, they are all so yummy! However the fire pit night was postponed to tomorrow and we were so disappointed as this would have been our first fire pit night ever. At night, we washed our tie dyed t-shirts made yesterday and they are ready to be worn! We are looking forward to wear these new t-shirts together. We had a really fun day today!
