Group 6 9/7/2016

9/7/2016

Full of excitement and anticipation, we went to San Francisco for our first excursion in this trip. We got on the travel bus at Pier 36, and transferred to a sightseeing bus.

First, we went to the Golden Gate Bridge by a tour bus. It was extremely windy and it was very foggy. It was like riding a roller coaster as we cannot see what is in front of us, it was really fun. Though it was very windy when we cross the bridge, we hope that we can go to there again.

Later the weather is getting better and better. The sun came out and we didn't feel cold anymore. We continued our ride to the Golden Gate Park. There were many statues in the park as statues were very popular in the time when the park was built. The park was built to encourage people to relax on the grass and have some leisure time with their pets. It was indeed a huge and refreshing park. The tour guide also told us a lot of histories about San Francisco as the tour went on, such as how the city got burnt or hit by earthquakes. The histories are like stories. They are interesting. We think that San Francisco is an amazing city. There were many different kinds of buildings, such as Victorian buildings from the past or colourful modern buildings from the present. We took lots of pictures together. As the bus went down steep slopes, we were very scared yet it was an unforgettable experience. We also saw the City Hall of San Francisco on the bus. Some parts of the building were made of pure gold, which made it very special and significant. We enjoyed ourselves a lot.

After that, we went to pier 39. There were many different kinds of shops, including fashion boutiques and souvenir shops. There was even one shop selling goods especially for left-handed people! The designs there are very beautiful.  The designers are great. We bought many clothes and souvenirs for our family, our friends, and ourselves. The sellers there are very kind and nice.  They helped us out.  We went into a shop which we heard someone speaking Cantonese.  Then we found out that that shop is opened by Chinese people.  It is quite nice that there is someone who speaks Chinese in San Francisco.

After dinner, we all need to deal with the sunburns. Therefore, although we are very tired today, we are very delighted.
