Group 5 (8/7/2016)

Hello! Once again, we are group 5. Our day started with, yet another delicious breakfast, which we enjoyed very happily under the radiating sun.
Most students treat Maths as their mortal enemy back in Hong Kong, but today’s lesson changed their views. In spite of the brain wrecking, strategic and dynamic games about Maths, some of us still found it too challenging to comprehend. That said, most of us enjoyed discussing and working out the solutions to the problems.  During the 3 hours, Maths was no longer a lethal, torturous subject to the ones who hate it, but a fun, complex mind-training game.  We learnt that in life, there is always a connection between each choice we make, and one decision will always affect our end-results.
Speaking of making decisions, after our short lunch break, we continued to use our warmed up neurons (pun intended) during the decision-making workshop. Through a few videos and an entertaining “volunteer”, we acknowledged the correct procedures to make the best decisions in our lives. The lecturers shared some romantic, personal stories hooking us in, distracting us from the hot, stuffy, jetlagged atmosphere.

However, the limelight of the day was the exhilarating scavenger hunt. Our favourite teacher in the whole wide world, Mr Nelson Wong came along and became our photographer. Two of our group mates fell into a fountain, but had a lot of fun. Besides the ‘incident’, our group successfully finished most of the requirements on the checklists, with loads of picture to treasure in our phone and minds. A funny moment during the hunt was when we were chasing a dog enthusiastically for a picture. We chased after it but it refused our attempts of affection. I don’t think it liked us.
We are looking forward to the field trips on the upcoming weekend to the sunny San Francisco and Monterey, where we get to travel around in a bus.
