Group 5 (13/7/2016)

Group 5 (13/7/2016)
On a stunning Wednesday, we were very exhilarated to be enjoying an equal balance between lessons and outings. However, today did not start off well. We seemed to be waiting for eternity to enter the dining hall, AGAIN. We were already frustrated as we found a table where we hastily finished our breakfast of French fries without ketchup. We did not enjoy the National French Fries Day without ketchup, which we were obsessed with.
Most of us had high expectations about the Creative Writing Lesson. Most of us enjoyed expressing ourselves through writing. We felt it was enlightening. There was a specific part of the lesson which all of us enjoyed—poem writing. During this section, we were given two pieces of chocolates, and the task of dedicating an ode to one of them. We were extremely fascinated by what we came up within a short period of time.
Despite the amusing poems, a highlight of the day is the field trip to the Computer History Museum. We had the opportunity to stroll around the place to have a look at the development of the calculator and the computer, and also watch various videos on the topics. Even though all of us did not study ICT at school, we gained extra knowledge on the subject, which made us satisfied with ourselves. Having watched the Oscar nominated film “The Imitation Game”, one of the exhibitions that intrigued us the most was the one about enigma, which was developed by Alan Turing. Another fun experience was taking a picture inside the developing self-driven car by Google. It was like taking a glimpse into the future!!!
Near the end of our day, we finally got to enjoy the long-awaited Fire Pit Night. After taking group pictures of the beautiful grassland, we all huddled around the fire for warmth. Penetrating marshmallows with our sticks, we roasted them until they turned golden. We all gulfed down the scrumptious S’mores, our mouths exploding with gooiness. It came to a bitter-sweet end when we gathered round in groups to reflect upon ourselves, reminding us of our coming last day.
