Group 10 9th July 2016

Today we had our first outing outside campus to San Francisco by a double decked tour bus. From the tourist guide, we learnt about the history of the city. It was founded by Spain firstly and that it once experienced a heavy earthquake and fire in 1906.  Instead of being a natural city, it is a man made place built from 47 hills. We passed by many sites which include the Palace for Fine Arts, Angel Island, the Golden Gate Bridge which is of an international orange color, the national cemetery, the museum of Waltz Disney, the heart of China Town, the public library and many more. Our favourite place is the Golden Gate Park where we are surrounded by green and friendly locals who are having a picnic. Also, we are  told that the Park once held a world fair in which the traditional Japanese Tea Garden was brought into the city. On the way of our journey, we passed by numerous elegant Victorian houses which immediately captured our attention and adoration. We had a fabulous time exploring the exotic and mesmerizing city of San Francisco.

In the afternoon, we hopped off the sightseeing bus and visited the second most popular tourist spot in California -- Pier 39. There were many shops there ranging from shell stores to ice cream stand and to gift shops... We spent our time roaming around the area, enjoying the sea breeze and dwelling in the peaceful scenery. At pier 39, we were able to experience the vibrancy of the heart of San Francisco and the coastline culture of California.
