Third day at Stanford is extremely exciting with new lessons which open up our world. Today’s lessons are Neuroscience and Blogging.
Neuroscience is basically everything about the brain, from the basic five senses of the body to mental illness, we learnt about the different parts of the brain and the way to test and experiment using both invasive and non-invasive ways to study the brain. The brain is filled with neurons which can transmit messages from one end to another, it is hard to imagine our whole body and our mind are all depending on such small cells and it is literally mind-blowing. The history of Neuroscience is relatively short as it is a ‘young’ field and it did not appear before any microscope was invented, the invention of different experiment apparatus and instrument is crucial to the development of the field of neuroscience.  Neuroscience is a relatively “young” field but its importance cannot be ignored, as modern technology advanced, the more we understand the brain, and the more we can understand ourselves as human being.
This lesson changes our view on neuroscience; it is a perfect mix between biology, chemistry and psychology. It shows an aspect of a human being through the way we act and how we can approach the most delicate and sacred part of a human – the brain. It is such a fascinating lesson and it can truly provide us an overall view of neuroscience.
The other lesson is about blogging, the lesson contains two parts. The first part is about the history and the different form of media in the art of blogging and communication and the second part is about the tools of blogging and the way to use it. Firstly, we introduced ourselves by talking about our favorite stories and the reason behind it, through this simple activity, we learnt more about our friends from this form of communication. The history of communication and media is amusing as the way of communication is changing through all eras to fit the speed and demand of communication, such as the first form of communicating by cave paintings. Secondly, the usage of the tools of blogging helps us to be more professional and to be clearer in presenting our ideas and our journey in Stanford University. There are two websites which really engage and help us to connect to the art of blogging, they are Canvas and Wordpress. Both of these websites can provide us an easier way to blog and connect with others.
In conclusion, today is a great day that we really learnt a lot more about what we can’t learn from school including knowledge that gained from the neuroscience which haven’t been learn in our biology lesson and different blogging tools which is relatively new to us.  When talking about the history in the second lesson, it is surprising  that we can linkup the content we learn on the first lesson that human brain was really amazing as human already know how to communicate in an early stage. We enjoy a lot and we are looking forward the next day.
