Our exciting day began with a lesson on Creative Writing. Our instructor, Professor John Evans, unleashed
our creativity by asking us to come up with a short fiction story using one of
the ten short story beginnings provided. This was a great exercise. We also had fun writing an ode to our
favourite chocolate. After that, we did
some literary appreciation by reading 2 passages – Hills Like White Elephants
and Reunion. We learnt about the Iceberg
theory and had fun exploring subtexts of the stories. This certainly improved our literary skills!
Our excitement for our field trip to the Computer History
Museum made us gobble our lunch quickly.
The Museum was fantastic and the exhibits traced the evolution of the
computing machines. We were impressed by
the development of technology over the past 2000 years. The museum consisted of displays of
calculators, computers, and other technological gadgets. It was especially thrilling to play Pac-man at
the museum too! We then headed off to 1
Hacker Way and took a group photo in front of the Facebook banner. After this field trip to the Silicon Valley
and Computer History Museum, we learnt a lot more about the development of
technology and are now looking forward to more leaps and bounds in technological
advancements in the future!
