Being Saturday with no classes on
the weekend, we had a field trip organized for our group at the Capitola
Beach. After breakfast, we got on the
bus and arrived at the splendid Capitola Beach. Overflowing with excitement,
the five of us darted straight towards the inviting beach to get ourselves soaked in the refreshing
sea water. For most of us, this was the first time to visit the Capitola beach
or even the United States. The sand
definitely felt softer and the beach was surely cleaner than back home. We had
a great time splashing through the water though it was quite cold and we all
screamed in surprise at first. We took a lot of pictures and enjoyed playing
volleyball and soccer on the beach. Besides spending time by the beach, our
group also walked around the shops and restaurant by the beach side. There was
a small shopping mall that we went which was not full of shops but the stores
there were touristy, selling exotic and interesting stuff. For lunch, we headed
to the Capitola Mall where we got the option to eat either at the fast food
joint, ‘Five Guys’ known for its freshly made burgers or ‘Chipotle’ for Mexican
food. All five of us voted for eating cheeseburgers with multiple toppings and
milkshakes and we had a great time. According
to our group mate, Natalie, her strawberry banana milkshake was the best she
had ever had. The burgers too were moist
and juicy and their flavor enhanced with the BBQ sauce and steak sauce. Once lunch was over, we headed back the
residence to rest and pack our things as sadly, we will be leaving tomorrow…
After completing all our packing
for our flight the next day, we all signed out during free time to explore and
walk around the campus. We went to the bookstore and bought souvenirs such as
clothes and stationary. We also went to a convenient shop to buy some snacks
for us to eat in the plane. We took a lot of pictures of the campus and were all
amazed that it had been 2 weeks since we landed on this gorgeous campus.
Sadly, today is the last night of
our stay at Stanford, and we will surely miss this amazing place. We will
definitely make another visit here in the future and we are looking forward to
studying here.
