Group 8

Day 1
We left Hong Kong excitedly early in the morning. After 13 hours of flight, we finally landed in San Francisco. We were all looking forward to the activities in the following days as it is our first trip to the United States of America. Arriving at the dormitory, we got to know our roommates. We got along really well with each other and we hope that we could spend a great time together.
Then, we had a campus tour which we visited the post office, bookstore and many different buildings. The scenery was stunning and beautiful, and we took a lot of photos there. We had a wonderful time throughout the tour despite jet lagging.
Next we had our first dinner outside the dormitory, ending with a warm welcome from the director and counselors of the program. We got to know more about the program and the courses here.
Day 2
We started day two with a fabulous breakfast at the campus dining hall, the food was amazing and we enjoyed the meal a lot. We had our first lessons after that and we learnt a lot from the instructors. We understood more about the functions of human and animal brains as well as the neurons in the nervous system after the neuroscience class. We also explored the winning strategies of different dynamic games in math exploration lessons. The lessons were interactive and we participated actively.

After lessons, we shopped a bit at the Stanford bookstore and we all bought hoodies and t-shirts for ourselves and our family members. We were amazed by the beautiful scenery around the campus. The counselors showed us how to do the laundry to train our independence. We ended our day with board games such as monopoly and scrabble. We had a great time today!
