Today is the eighth day of our Stanford trip. Time went really fast today as time flies when you are having fun. We felt really excited about today's activities and had a memorable day.

The only lesson today is creative writing. In this lesson we learnt different techniques that could be use on writing and how to phrase things in a poem. We started our lesson by writing our own stories using different topics or questions given by the professor. After finishing our own stories, we formed groups and shared our stories among our group members with the use of Fornick's situation of story. This was used to identify the plot, character and context of every literature. The second thing we learnt in the lesson was the iceberg theory; it was the most exciting part of the lesson. It was unbelievable that there were several deeper messages behind such short stories. For example the story of Hills likes White Elephant that we talked about the controversial topics of abortion which we have read and understood in the lesson. We also learnt how to ode a thing in a poem. We could praise a thing by flattery and exaggeration. We all created our own poems by praising a chocolate. We wrote our poem by sitting outside the building where was a beautiful place with a humongous grassland. With this breath-taking view, we got a lot of inspiration and boosted our creativity that we finished our poem successfully. It was a pity that we could only have one incredible creative writing lesson for the whole trip as we enjoyed our lesson a lot and we have went through different things that we cannot experience in Hong Kong.

After lunch, we went to the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley. There were 20 exhibitions. We thought that some of the exhibitions were more interesting than the others such as calculators, memory & storage, artificial intelligence & Robotics and mobile computing.

First, we went to exhibition no.1, calculator. If there was no calculator, we would be in trouble in mathematics lessons at school. Therefore, we stayed there the longest time among all exhibition halls. The tools that used for calculation were difficult to use. Perhaps it's because the calculators nowadays were too convenient. We can know the answers by just pressing a few buttons.

Then, the exhibition of memory and storage also made us shocked. Computers in the past could only store a few MB files. We wonder what can people store in those computers.

After that, we went to the exhibition of intelligence and robotics. We saw different kinds of robots there. There were many movies about robots have been released in these few decades. I could only think of the movie ‘Terminator’ when I saw those terrible robots. We were wondering if technology continued to become more advanced, it will no longer benefit human, or even replace us.

Last but not least, we went to the exhibition of mobile computing. We saw the first generation of Apple computers. I have never thought of the appearance of Apple computer would be old like this. Then, we saw the 2nd generation of the Apple computer which Steve Jobs took part in the creation. They looked more modernized and we are all impressed by these great invention.

We have done our best in all of the activities today. We learnt a lot from the lesson and also the museum. We could not stop discussing the fascinating trip when we are on the way back campus. We are looking forward for the activities on next day, and we can't wait to know more!
