Group 5 (9/7/2016)

Blog 4 (9/7/2016)
Hello! Once again, we are group 5. As usual, we woke up bright and early and headed out to the dining hall for a tasty breakfast, but unlike the recent week, we were overjoyed with the long-awaited field trip to the city of San Francisco. Yay! Little did we know that it took more than an hour to reach our destination, and the 1-hour bus ride dragged on forever. After a brief nap, we all took in the fresh, breezy Californian air once we got off the vehicle in relief.
However, the bus rides weren’t over. A double-decker bus pulled over next to the crosswalk we were lifelessly standing on, and we stared at it in horror. Fortunately for us, the atmosphere of the San Francisco tour bus was better than the previous bus ride, with an open roof of opportunities to sightsee and take breathtaking pictures.
Fascinating things happened on the bus. We were like Dorothy of Oz, swirling into a foggy hurricane which blew our jackets off and violently brushed hair in our faces.  Despite that, our fantastic photography skills managed to get us a few acceptable pictures of famous scenic spots such as the Golden Gate Bridge and historical, Victorian buildings and artifacts, though shrouded in a mist of mystery. A friendly bee also paid a visit to our bus, but we didn’t like it. Our girly, giddy sides appeared in the shops and tents of Pier 39, where we did loads of shopping.
After dinner, we had fun in the backyard of our dormitory, Lomita, where we engaged in an amateur game of volleyball. We got to interact with our councilors, chaperones and friends, and trained our enthusiasm and passion in sports and life. Though we were freezing in the chilly weather, the ball game was full of joy, laughter and warmth.

We were glad that we have another field trip to Monterey tomorrow.
