Group 6 11/7

First of all, we had our second blogging lesson. It was really interesting. We reviewed our blog entries together. Then, we learnt how to choose and make good use of information from different media. The internet had the least credibility when compared to other forms of media, with books and documentaries being the most credible. We learnt how to judge whether the information was biased or not. We also learnt how to edit photos using Google photos. It was something like Photoshop but a lot easier! Moreover, we learnt how to deal with being nervous before presentations. We learnt to take deep breaths before presentations. After that, each of us wrote a blog summarizing what we did in the past week. It was really enjoyable when reviewing the photos.
After lunch, we had our legal studies lesson. The teacher gave us an introduction of the roles of different people at a court. We watched an excerpt from an old movie showing us the different tone and attitudes of the lawyers of plaintiff and defense side. After that, we had our preparation for the mock trial. The students responsible for direct examination had to think of their own questions to ask the witness. They also had to practice asking questions with the witnesses. The students responsible for cross examination had a more difficult task as they cannot practice with the witnesses. They had to interpret how the witnesses may respond to their questions. The case of the mock trial is mainly about a student called Joe Jackson bringing a toy gun to school which is prohibited by the new school rule. However, Joe Jackson does not acknowledge the fact that even fake guns are prohibited by the school and he just wanted to protect himself from the bully Spike. Our team was on the plaintiff side. It was a really unforgettable experience as we definitely learnt more about American laws and about different practices at the court. We also had a fun time objecting the opposite side.  We would like to become a lawyer in the future.
Later on, we had our personal time.  We made our own clothes with tie dye pattern.  It was fun.  All of us made the sun pattern.  We need to let the shirt to dry for about 2-3 hours.  After drying, we untied our shirts.  It is quite beautiful.  Hope we can make one more shirt.

We are going to Stanford shopping centre tomorrow.  We are looking forward to it!
