This Saturday, we visited the beach in Capitola. It was quite windy at first, but then the weather became much better and the sun came out as we approached the beach. We took nice pictures with the beautiful scenery and played on the sand. The Californians were very friendly, they chatted with us and we shared our experiences in this journey to them. We all think that visiting the beach was a great opportunity to immerse in local California coast culture as well as enjoying ourselves. It was a really good way to relax especially after two weeks of intensive lectures.
After hanging around the beach, we went to some nearby shops and restaurants. To our surprise, there was one Thai restaurant which sells bubble tea! It's indeed very interesting to have a taste of Asian food at California coast. From this we learned the importance and the intriguing quality of culture exchange between the East and the West.
We could choose Mexican food or burger for our lunch. We applied decision making skills and chose Mexican food because we want to try some unique and traditional food at the States. We tried burritos with steak. It was amazing!
Surprisingly, we had a sign out time today. Not wasting this golden opportunity, we went out to explore more of the campus. The grasslands, fountains and buildings still appeared to be captivating and mesmerizing to us though we see them everyday. Today was our last day here and we couldn't help but feel nostalgic. Not only had we learnt academically, but we had also grown as a person and had definitely enjoyed our stay here.
