Group 5 (11/7/2016)

Group 5 (11/7/2016)
Hello! Once again, we are group 5. After two exhausting days of field trips, we finally got to settle down in our classrooms for the lessons Constitutional Law and Design Thinking. We expected the previous lesson to simply be about the mock trial, but it was more than that.
Our lesson started off with a brief introduction of the subject and a short clip of the movie The Verdict. The movie greatly sparked our interest on The Court and how it functions in real life. Through the visuals, we were given great insight of the importance of Law, which is in charge of the maintenance of order and a just attitude in society.
However, the highlight of the lesson was, of course, the mock trial. We actually felt like Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, using our wit and sarcasm to find loopholes and gain answers. Some of our friends also put on a fantastically humorous show as witnesses, with dramatic performances of breaking down and crying. It was a valuable experience, not only for the ones who want to be lawyers, but someone who is searching for fun and climax in their boring and aimless lives.

After a full lunch, we headed towards the Education School for our Design Thinking lesson. After a briefing in a classroom, we were surprised and delighted to find out that the lesson would take place mostly outdoors, instead of a stuffy basement. We started off in a field of green, where we introduced ourselves and think imaginatively through acting out items with our bodies.  Then, we headed towards the D Building, which was a whole new experience for us, filled with various colors and innovative inventions. Finally, we were given a trade-off challenge, in which we were given a paper clip at the start of the game, and have to use our friendliness and pearly smiles to trade it with random strangers for bigger and better items.

Our visit to the Stanford Shopping Centre was disappointing. We expected beautiful and memorable merchandise, but THAT WASN’T THE CASE. There were only expensive brands which can only be bought by adults, but unfortunately, we were broke teenagers. Therefore, we sat at McDonalds, eating McNuggets and fries like total losers.  We didn’t like the shopping, but we did enjoy the snacks.
